    First Edition, Leather Binding, Very Scarce

    The first edition of this work. A scarce work. A fascinating work discussing the alliance between the French and the Scots throughout history. With the work in French to the rear. Written by Thomas Moncrieff. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpaper.

    Condition

    In the original paneled calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing to the boards and spine. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light marks to the boards. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot.
