This alphabetically arranged catalogue consists of two volumes, with volume I covering the letters A-I, and volume II the letters J-V.
This work, arranged by Jean Richard, includes sermons on marriage, death, faith, health, and the nature of God.
The work of French man of letters Jean Richard (1639-1719). Initially trained as a lawyer, he left the bar and began to compose sermons, intended either to be preached by others, or to edify his readers.
With paper labels to heads of front boards, with library stamps to front free endpapers and blanks, and title pages.
A very scarce work.
Condition
In half morocco bindings, with cloth covered boards. Rubbing to joints, back strip heads and tails, and board perimeters. Joints starting, with boards somewhat tender. Fading to board head and tails, with labels to heads of front boards. Small losses of leather to spine heads and tails. Stamps to front free endpapers, front blanks, and title pages. Internally, firmly bound. Volume I title page laid down, with minor loss to head. Pages bright, but with significant tide marks throughout each volume.
