Fourteen disbound plates from the 1743 first edition of the first volume of Pococke's work.
Present here are fourteen engraved plates, being plates VIII, XVII, XX, XXXVI, XXXVII, XLI, XLII, XLVIII, LVII, LX, LXII, LXIII, LXV, LXXVI.
These plates include depictions of the pyramids of Dashour and Saccara and Geeze, an Egyptian mummy, the head of the Sphynx, the statue of Memnon at Thebes, part of the Ozymandias statue, a number of Egyptian utensils, the statues of Isis, Osiris and Harpocrates.
One text leaf is present, being the dedication leaf, which is usually found immediately following the title page.

These plates are beautifully descriptive.
Condition
Disbound from a large volume. Pages lightly age toned due to paper type, most apparent to the first leave. Small losses to the gutter margin of each leaf. Pages otherwise clean and bright.
