Illustrated with engravings and decorative pieces throughout. The first volume of a two volume set. Illustrated with notes explaining several difficult texts rectifying all the mis-translations and reconciling many seeming contradictions. Collected from Prideaux, Stackhouse, Howel, and other writers on the Sacred Scriptures by Laurence Clarke. This volume contains the History of the Old Testament only.

Condition

In a contemporary calf binding. Externally, worn with front board absent, rear just held by cords. With wear to extremities and rear board. spine label absent and slight loss to head and tail of spine. Internally, text block generally firmly bound. Bright but with handling marks, slight scattered foxing and the odd ink mark. With occasional slight closed tears.
