The scarce two part first volume of the eighth edition of Francis Nichols's genealogical guide to the nobility of England, bound in two volumes.
With a general title page to volume I, and further title pages indicating that, respectively, part I is concerned with the 'Royal Family: also, Dukes, Marquesses and Earls', and part II to the 'Viscounts, Bishops and Barons of England'.
Collated, illustrated with one-hundred and twenty three engraved heraldic plates across both volumes. With volume I illustrated with sixty-four plates, and lacking plates 21, 22, 25, 26 and 68, and volume II illustrated with fifty-eight plates, lacking plates 78 and 80.

Condition
In full calf bindings. Joints starting, with boards holding firm. Small closed tear to head of volume II back strip. Minor losses to spine labels. Losses to heads of front free endpapers, with stamp to front free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned but generally clean.
