The purpose of Ibbot's lectures was to reconcile free will with religious faith and obedience to God, with sermons including discussions of the concept of 'truth', of the New Testament, and of 'the use of reason in matters of religion'.
In two parts, with a general title page to the start of the work.
The first part consists of sermons preached in 1713, and the second in 1714. With an individual title page, pagination and register to each part.

A bright copy of this scarce volume of Anglican sermons, from a popular minister who was buried in the south transept Westminster Abbey.
Condition
In a full calf signed binding. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to back strip head, with head of front joint starting, but board holding firm. Rear hinge strained, but firmly held. Binder's label to tail of front pastedown. Bookplate to front pastedown. Inscription to head of front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally bright, but generally clean, with only the odd spot.
