The plays of influential English poet, literary critic, translator, and playwright John Dryden, who dominated the literary life of Restoration England to such a point that the period came to be known in literary circles as the Age of Dryden.
Dryden was England's first Poet Laureate, awarded the title in 1668.

Condition
In full calf bindings. Small losses of leather to back strip head and tail. Volume I boards detached. Volume II front board detached, with rear board tenderly held by one cord only. Volume III lacking both boards. Volume IV joints starting, with boards holding firm. Volume VI lacking front board, with rear board tenderly held by one cord only. Stamps to front free endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound, with pages 323-326 of volume III detached and loosely inserted, with a significant closed tear, and pages 107-110 of volume IV detached and loosely inserted. Pages generally clean and bright, with only the odd light spot.
