Featuring a folding map of Sweden and Norway.
A scarce history of Swedish revolutions, originally constructed in French in the late seventeenth century by French clergyman, member of the Capuchin Order, and historian Rene-Aubert Vertot. The work appears here translated into English by John Mitchel, and concentrates on the years between 1350 and 1560.
Bearing an attractive contemporary owner's inscription, 'Robert Foord', to a front endpaper, with the name also present to the head of title page.

Condition
In the original full calf binding. Externally, bumped to extremities and rubbed to joints and tail of spine. Small hole to head of spine. Contemporary inscription to front pastedown and endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Some contemporary ink notations to title page. Pages age toned, with some spotting throughout, most concentrated to first and last few pages.
