What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition

Published in the same year as the first edition.

Foxon E521

The first published poem of Abel Evans, who authored this work in order to ally himself with the high-church Tory party.

It is structured as a dialogue between Tindal and the Devil, who has disguised himself as a member of the All Souls College staff.

A scarce piracy of this work. The poem achieved popularity, as evidenced by subsequent editions, a number of piracies, and a spurious "Second Part", published in the same year.
