ESTC Citation No. T34995, with leaves A2-4 signed, and the last word of page 9 reading 'bred'.
A playwright and politician, Robert Howard fought for the Royalist cause during the English Civil War.
Howard, who had acted as Dryden's patron for some time, went on to have a public dispute with him over the use of rhyme in drama, but they were reconciled before Howard's death, in 1698.
Condition
Rebound in marbled paper covered boards, with endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned, with light spotting. Two ink initials to title page.
