This is a scarce first edition of this religious commentary text. Written in Latin. Joannes Clericus was a Swiss theologian and biblical scholar. He was famous for promoting critical interpretation of the Bible, and was a radical of his age.

Condition

In a vellum binding. Externally rubbed with warping to the boards. Bumping to extremities. Joints starting and hinges strained. Previous owner bookplate to front pastedown. Tidemarks to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright though with some patches of foxing. Tidemarks to pages.
