Baron Samuel von Pufendorf was a German jurist, political philosopher, economist, statesman, and historian. Among his achievements are his commentaries and revisions of the natural law theories of Thomas Hobbes and Hugo Grotius. With a previous owner's bookplate with family crest of 'Ferrars' to verso of front free endpaper with ink inscription beneath.

Condition

Expertly rebound in a quarter calf binding with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart, lightly rubbed in places. Internally, generally firmly bound, with spotting to some pages.
