First Edition, Leather Binding, Very Scarce

Former owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, Matthew Parker.

ESTC reference no: T184981. 

Collated, lacking the frontispiece. 

Noted to the title page as being by 'Author of The week’s preparation to the sacrament'.  Each miscellany to this work is no more than two sentences and include words of wisdom such as 'If a man be not so happy as he desires, let this be his comfort, that he is not so wretched as he deserves'  and 'What I cannot avoid, I will learn to bear with Patience.'

Condition

In a contemporary full calf binding. Externally, sound. Small loss to the head and tail of spine. Joints are split with the hinges strained but firm. Former owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, Matthew Parker. Frontispiece has been excised. Internally, firmly bound. Worming to the gutter, not affecting text. Pages are very bright with just the odd spots.
