Josephus was a first century Romano-Jewish historian who was born in Jerusalem. He fought against the Romans during the first Jewish-Roman War as head of Jewish forces in Galilee. He recorded Jewish history, with emphasis on the first century CE and the first Jewish-Roman War.

This work contains 'The Antiquities of the Jews, in Twenty Books', 'Their Wars with the Romans, in Seven books', 'The Life of Josephus, written by himself', His book against Apion, in defence of the Antiquities of the Jews, in Two PArts, 'The Martyrdom of the Maccabees' and 'Philo's Embassy from the Jews of Alexandria to Caius Caligula'.

A very bright copy of this important collection of works, which provide a valuable insight into Judaism in the first century. They also trace the early history of Christianity.
