Early editions of this work are very scarce. This is the second edition. Title page erroneously states 1671, however this is the 1698 second edition. Ccllated: Complete John Flavell (1627-1691) was a Presbyterian clergyman, puritan and author. He was ejected from his role as minister in the 1662 Act of Uniformity but continued to preach. With a biographical note attached to front pastedown. The note details Favell's life of teaching particularly in the Nonconformist church and gives a list of other works written by him.

In a calf binding. Externally, worn with front joint failed and front board detached but present. Metropolitan library paper label to front board. Loss to extremities and head of spine. Loose front free end paper. Writing on rear paste down and rear free end paper. Handwritten biographical note attached to front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages age toned throughout with occasional annotation.
