He used contemporary analytical techniques to detail and document the hot mineral springs in Bath, Somerset. Other works by him include 'A True and Exact account of Sadler's Well' and 'The New Mineral Waters Lately Found out at Islington'. This work looks at the thermal waters of Britain in general, with a section focusing on Bath from this early advocate of hydrotherapy.
