Filippo Ferrari was a member of the Order of Servites and taught mathematics and astronomy at the University of Pavia. He published works on geography and history, as well as a biography of Italian saints and a Latin-Italian dictionary.
Lexicon Geographicum was published posthumously, and is an enhancement of his earlier work, Epitome Geographicum, expanded here by Michael Antonius Baudrand.

Condition
Rebound in half morocco, with cloth covered boards, and endpapers renewed. Externally, excellent. Adhesive residue from removed label to back strip tail. Bookplate to front pastedown. Minor loss to the tail of an original front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, but generally clean, with the odd spot and light handling mark. Minor loss to tail of leaf C3, with minor worming to tail of each leaf up to leaf O of the second volume, not affecting the text.
