Register runs as A4. With forty-five blank leaves bound to the rear. Rebound in a quarter cloth binding with marbled paper to the boards. A very scarce legal work discussing the church, state, and preaching in Great Britain in the mid seventeenth century. Preaching in parishes in England and Wales, a law for to to be lawful for parishioners to set up lectures and preaches. This work was written during a turbulent time in the history of religion in England, being written during an era where religious policy varied under each monarch. When this work was published, Charles I was King, and he was considered to be too sympathetic to other religions in England.
Condition
Rebound in a quarter cloth binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Fading to the spine and to the head of the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and generally clean with the odd light spot and mark.
