The second edition of this English translation.

John Le Breton's 'Britton' is the earliest summary of the law of England, which purports to have been written following the request of King Edward I. It is believed to largely be based on 'De Legibus ete Consuetudinibus Angliae' be Henry de Bracton. 

Edited by Edmund Wingate, the English mathematical and legal writer. Wingate was the first to publish on the principle of the slide rule, and was a Member of Parliament during the Interregnum.

Condition

In the original calf boards. Rebacked, with the original boards preserved. Externally, smart. Patches of rubbing to the boards. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm. Fading to the title page. A few light chips to extremities. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are bright with just the odd spots to pages.
