Description

First Edition, Illustrated

Complete in two parts. 

Comprising a late version of the 'Ars Brevis' and also 'Le Petit Oeuvre Cabalistique' and 'Traite de la Recherche du Moyen'.

Illustrated, with ten woodcut plates on six sheets.  The first leaf of Approbation, which has been misbound to the rear, is lacking. 

Bookplate to front pastedown, 'Ernest Petit' and to the recto of front endpaper, 'Camille Aboussouan'.

Condition

In a full tree calf binding. Externally, very smart. Rebacked with the original backstrip laid down. Bookplates to the front pastedown and recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. With a short tear to I3 not affecting text. Paper flaw to H11 affecting text on recto of leaf. Missing text has been supplied in a contemporary hand on repair mount. Occasional light spots to pages.
