The first edition of this anthology which contains translations of Guillaume Houppelande's 'De Immortalitate Animae' and Xenocrates of Chalcedon's 'De Morte', sections from Marcello Palingenio Stellato's 'Zodiacus Vitae', Matthaus Dresser's 'De Partibus Corporis Humani et de Anima' and Athenagoras's 'De Resurrectione' in addition to other scriptural passages relating to immortality. This work is entirely in English. With a small portion of the original title page preserved, the rest in hand-produced facsimile. Repair to the top of A2. ESTC No. S116566. A very scarce work which is also known as 'De Morte'. The ESTC only traces five copies worldwide. A fascinating collection of works regarding viewpoints of death, and life after death.

Condition

Rebound, in a full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the spine and minor bumping to the head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Small loss to the pages A2 and A3. Large loss to the title page with a small portion of the original title page preserved, the rest in hand-produced facsimile. Repair to the top of A2. Just the odd light spots to pages.
